Improve Your Self-Confidence with Hypnosis
These days many people are consulting hypnotist for help increasing self-confidence and self esteem. This is probably because we live in a fast-paced and competitive society where taking time for one’s personal growth or self-examination is not a priority. It is easier for a lot of people to be what others want them to be. Hypnosis is an effective and perhaps unconventional way of dealing with this –
What is it?
Hypnosis can safely eliminate negative behaviors and beliefs and replace with new and positive ones – to boost your self-confidence. Hypnosis is a heightened state of responsiveness, receptivity, openness, and suggestibility to sensations, thoughts, or actions. The aim is to acquire automatic positive responses.
People are often in a hypnotic state, like a trance, but it is more noticeable when falling asleep and upon waking up. Ever wondered why commercials on television are effective – that’s how suggestibility works.
While in the hypnotic state, your brain switches from the normal beta sensory-motor frequency to the frequency including alpha and theta, which is more expanded, aware, and relaxed. This is a state of peace and well-being.
Here are seven easy steps to follow:
Generate an intention. You may set a goal of an aspect of your life, like how you would like your life to be, or you’ll start loving yourself.
Create a statement/s. Your statement should be simply-worded and easy to understand because you will have to repeat it in 5 seconds or less. While reciting the statement, you will use vivid pictures that are always specific, believable, and positive. Take the following statements:
“I am too ugly and fat so no nobody likes me.”
“I feel fine. I love my body. I love myself and people like me.”
Choose a comfortable position, sitting or lying, breathe gently: start from your belly, inhale while counting to 7, then hold for a count of two, and then exhale while counting to 11. Hold for another 2 counts, then repeat the breathing technique thrice. With practice, you’ll get the hang of it.
Visualize your breath traveling through and relaxing your body. From the head, count to 10 before proceeding to the neck, after 10 counts go to the shoulders, count to 10 again then go to both your arms, after 10 counts picture it traveling to your hands, then to your chest, stomach, then to your buttocks, to the legs, and lastly to the feet. Remember to count 1 to 10 as you reach each body parts.
Now, visualize your goal. See it already unfolding, experience it, feel it.
Next, visualize the fulfillment of your goal. Feel it already achieved. Block negative thoughts and feelings. Concentrate on your joy as you see your goal finally realized.
Be thankful. For about 15 to 20 seconds, feel and express your gratitude for having reached your positive goal.
Hypnosis gives you a feelings of serenity and calmness. Give it a try.
